Granite benchtop resurfacing gives you the look of stone without removing your existing benchtops. If you’re a bit of a home improvement TV show buff, you’ve probably seen some of the benchtop resurfacing options out there. A few years back, one of the most popular ways to resurface your benchtops was by painting special textured finishes (similar to polyurethane finishes) to your counters. Things have come a long way since then. Enter Granite Transformations… Rather than painting or coating surfaces, today, with Granite Transformations, we can resurface your existing surfaces with stunning engineered stone, giving you the look of solid stone at a fraction of the cost. With Granite Transformations, a thin, yet incredibly durable layer of engineered stone is bonded permanently over your existing benchtops to give them a whole new look. Sound intriguing? Read on to find out what other benefits this unique kitchen upgrade offers. ![White Kitchen Renovation | Sydney | Waratah Kitchens](https://waratahkitchens.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/waratah-kitchens-ryde-after-renovation.webp) --- ## What's So Unique About Granite Transformation's Benchtop Resurfacing? Absolutely, we can and the difference it can make is absolutely massive. Even better, we can transform your laminate benchtops in as little as a day in most cases. Resurfacing old laminate benchtops with a granite overlay has become a popular trend in the world of kitchen and bathroom remodeling. It is a cost-effective way to transform your old and worn-out benchtops into a luxurious and elegant feature of your home. Resurfacing your old laminate benchtops with a granite overlay can instantly transform the look and feel of your kitchen or bathroom, making it look more stylish and modern. Laminate benchtop resurfacing can also increase the value of your home. Potential buyers are often impressed by the look of granite, and having it in your kitchen or bathroom can make your home more attractive to buyers. Granite overlays are extremely durable and can withstand heavy use and wear and tear. They are resistant to scratches, stains, and heat, making them an ideal choice for kitchen or bathroom benchtops. With a granite overlay, you can have a stylish and modern kitchen or bathroom that you’ll love for years to come. ## The Process to Relaminate a Kitchen Countertop The process to relaminate a kitchen benchtop starts with surface preparation and precise bonding. This involves removing any dirt, grease, or stains from the benchtop using a degreaser and a scraper. The surface is then sanded to make it smooth, and any cracks or chips are repaired using filler. Once the surface is prepared, the next step is to bond the new benchtop surface to your existing benchtops using a special adhesive. The edges are then finished using a router to give it a clean, professional look. THe end result is a square edge profile. After your Granite Transformations overlay is installed, any necessary adjustments are made to ensure it fits perfectly. The surface is then polished using a diamond polishing pad to give it a glossy finish, resulting in a beautiful and durable benchtop that will last for years to come. ## Summing Up... Overall, benchtop resurfacing is an excellent choice for homeowners who want to update their kitchen without breaking the bank. It offers affordability, durability, and sustainability, making it a smart and practical solution for any kitchen renovation project. Experience a stunning and modern kitchen that won’t break the bank with Granite Transformations. Imagine how quickly you could be cooking and entertaining in your beautiful new space.
